Large Financial Institution

Project:  The IT professionals at this major bank needed to create a Business Intelligence system that enabled regulatory compliance, addressing Sarbanes-Oxley mandates.  Project objectives included ensuring financial reporting accuracy, enabling ad hoc reporting, improving data quality, and promoting more efficient business processes.  The bank needed to integrate data maintained in five different software applications, providing a “single version of the truth”.  Axis Group was able to quickly build a Proof of Value system and was then asked by bank management to design and build a complete BI system.  An important factor in the success of this project was the implementation of a metadata lineage strategy.  This allows users, at a glance, to see data origins, derivations used in producing the data, data ownership, classification, and sensitivity.
